Incoming P2P Medical Records
How to attach incoming P2P Medical Records to a Chart
If a Provider is set up for P2P (Provider-to-Provider), he/she or an assigned MA may receive electronic medical records directly into eCW from outside Providers or Specialists.
1. P2P Records will come into your T Jelly Bean. Click on the "T" followed by "eCW P2P Patient Records." Notice that there is a number to the right of this option. This shows how many items are available in this folder to be imported.
2. The P2P Patient Records Inbox will open. This will show all records that have been sent to the Provider. If an MA has been assigned to receive these records by default, he or she will be able to see these records, open them, and attach them to the patient's chart for the Provider. (See the document named "Set Default Assigned To" for more details.)
Click anywhere on the of the record to open the message.
3. You will need to match the patient. Click on the "Match Patient" button. In this case the Patient is automatically matched, and we will click "Use Matched Patient."
You could do a search if the patient is not matched correctly. In that case you would click on "Match and Select" once the patient is found and highlighted.
4. There may or may not be a message included from the sending provider or staff member. This can be reassigned to another user or keep assigned to yourself. Do NOT mark as "Addressed" until the following step have been completed.
Click on "Attachments" to preview the attached documents or Click on OK for a prompt to save the documents to the patient's chart. Click Yes to move the documents into the chart. At this point you should see a box that shows Uploading.
5. The documents will now be found in the D Jelly Bean to where the documents can be assigned to the Provider for review like other documents and can be re-named if necessary.
