PHA Twin Turbo Dymo setup

CMThis guide will show you how to set up a Dymo Labelwriter 450 Twin Turbo to print PHA labels for the PHA draw team. In the event you are setting up a new printer or run into issues and need to troubleshoot, follow the steps below and the printer should operate as intended.

1. Check to make sure that the laptop connected to the dymo is on the 4.6.1 .Net Framework or newer.

Open Search>Search for CMD>Right click and run as Admin>Type  'reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Net Framework Setup\NDP\v4" /s'>Check the "Version" field to confirm the releases of the .NET Framework available on Windows 10.

2. Once the Dymo printer has been set up physically with its printing paper and plugged in, the name of the printer name and share name need to be changed to either 'TwinDymo' or 'DymoTwin'.

Open Search>Search for Control Panel>In Control Panel search for View Devices and Printers>Right click the printer you have plugged in and choose printer properties> Select the 'Sharing' tab and check the 'Share this printer' box>enter TwinDymo for the Share name and apply the settings.

Once the share name has been set, select the General tab in the printer properties> Change the name from DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo' to 'TwinDymo'.

3. After setting the name and sharename up properly, we need to change the paper quality for the Dymo.

Open Search> Search for Printers & Scanners > Click TwinDymo then Manage> Select Printing preferences>Select the Paper/Quality tab > Check the Best circle under quality settings and select apply.

4. Once all printer configuration is complete, we must check the laptop to make sure we have the CatcLocalPrintApp-v1.4.

Open Search>Search for Add or Remove Programs> Scroll through the list of apps and features and look for CatcLocalPrint 1.4.0>If you can not find the local print app, you can find it in the Idrive here: \\catcfilestore1\careatcData\Technology\Software Engineering\CatcLocalPrintHelper.

Additional info:

Users need the PHADymoPrint role added to their account when printing PHA team draws. If the draw is coming up as a PDF, the issue might be related to them not having the proper role.
